Venues Two years ago, we moved out of Manchester to a village on the edge of the Peak District. We are blessed with lovely scenery nearby, so our local neighbourhood was the obvious setting for our marriage. St. Mary's Church, Disley The marriage ceremony will take place at 12pm at St. Mary's Church in Disley. Disley is our local parish and the church is only 1 mile from our house. It is a historic village dating back to the Domesday Book, located on the main road between Manchester and Buxton. Disley is also home to Lyme Park, a National Trust estate with a house, gardens and deer park. Shrigley Hall Hotel After the ceremony we will follow the scenic country lanes over the hills to Shrigley Hall Hotel where the reception will be held. The hotel is situated in the hills above Macclesfield and has wonderful views across the western edges of the Peak District to the Cheshire plain. After a drinks reception, guests will make their way to the William Turner Suite for the wedding breakfast. Evening guests will be able to join in the ceilidh (Celtic barn dance) we have planned. Don't worry, no previous dancing experience is required! Directions to both venues are provided on the next page.
