Church Click here to see the location of the church on a map Disley is situated on the A6 between Buxton and Manchester. At the traffic lights in the centre of the village - look out for the Ram's Head pub - turn off the A6 towards Higher Disley (this is a left turn if heading towards Manchester, and a right turn if heading towards Buxton). Immediately after this turn off, turn right again up Red Lane, a narrow lane just after the pub. Follow Red Lane up the hill and round to the left. When the road bends to the right, turn left on to a narrow lane, and after a few metres turn left again on to a track which leads to the church car park. your steps back to the junction at the bottom of Red Lane. Here, turn right
up the hill (away from the traffic lights). Follow this road for about 1
mile, then turn right on to Mudhurst Lane (signposted to Kettleshulme).
Continue straight on, past the Moorside Grange hotel on the left, until you
reach a T junction (the B5470) where you should turn right. After half a mile, turn right again towards Pott Shrigley at a partially obscured junction on the crest of a hill.
Follow this road down into the village to a T junction opposite a large
church where you turn right. The entrance to the hotel is 500 yards along
this road on the right hand side. Parking is at the rear of the hotel and
access to the reception suite is through the main entrance at the front. From the Midlands, South West & North West: Leave the M6 and head for Macclesfield. At Macclesfield follow signs for Stockport and the A6. This road becomes the A523 (Silk Road) heading towards Stockport. Follow the A523 for c. 4 miles. At the 2nd set of traffic lights turn right into Brookledge Lane, signposted Pott Shrigley. Shrigley Hall is 2 miles on the left. From the South East and North East: Leave the M1 and head for Chesterfield on the A617. At Chesterfield, take the A619 to Baslow, and from Baslow take the A623 to Chapel-en-le-Frith. At the roundabout, turn right on to the A6 towards Chapel. Take the slip road to leave the A6 and enter Chapel village. Pick up the B5470 heading towards Whaley Bridge. At the traffic lights in Whaley Bridge, go straight across on the B5470 towards Macclesfield. After approximately 4 miles, look out for the right hand turn at the crest of the hill signposted to Pott Shrigley (this is a partially obscured junction). From here you join the route to the hotel from the church (refer to the first set of directions above for the continuation of the route).
